Stratford Route

This was hands down my favourite training route last year - 37 miles to Stratford and back. With a tea and cake stop. The tea and cake won me, still does. As an added plus, the route has few hills, none really hard. On a sunny Sunday morning the ride is a treat. Last Sunday it was sunny :)

By the Avon

It was our first long distance ride this year, even though we cut out 5 miles on a shorter route home. It was exhillerating. We're pushing ourselves once again. Liz and I both feel the training is not as hard as it was last year - our first cycle trip. I'm getting fit in spite of my bad habits. Five weeks left to go!!

On a side note: Mike and I are trialling (driving/cycling) the UK side of the route to make sure it's a good ride. So far, I've cycled a bit of Didcot and Reading - both weird and wonderful in their way.

A route through Reading.
